Dr. Gomillion traveled to Uganda at the beginning of the summer with students from the Peach State Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program as part of an undergraduate research program sponsored by the NSF. During the 8-week program, three LSAMP students conducted research evaluating various fuel sources for use in conjunction with an EvaKuula Unit, which provides a means for cooling milk on dairy farms in Sub-Saharan Africa. The cooling unit was developed by Dr. William Kisaalita of our College of Engineering, who has established various research endeavors in Uganda over the past several years.
